HOW TO CREATE TIME TRACKING INVOICES IN QUICKBOOKS:

1. Open a Timesheet:-Go to the Create (+) Menu, and under Employees choose Weekly Timesheet.

2. Choose Whose Time You're Tracking:-If the person doing the work is a contractor, make sure to enter them into QuickBooks as a Supplier.

3. Choose Your Customer:-Choose whose time you’re tracking by entering a customer name.

4. Enter the Service:-Type in whatever service item was provided for this customer.

5. Choose the Account:-Choose the appropriate bookkeeping account to track this item.

6. Enter the Time Worked:-Enter the time that the employee worked for the customer.

7. Repeat for Each Customer:-Complete a new line for each customer.

8. Invoice Your Customers:-Create an invoice for each customer and add their timesheet information to it with the click of a button.

quickbooks online time tracking:

Turning on the time tracking preference:

Go to Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
On the left hand menu, click Advanced settings. 
Click the pencil to the right of Time Tracking 
Check the Add Service field to timesheets and Add Customer field to timesheets. 
Check the Show billing rate to users entering time(optional).
Select the first day of the work week, use the dropdown and select the day to begin each work week. Go to Save Button.
Click Done button on the right.

To add a Time Tracking user only:

Click on the Gear and select Manage Users.
Go to New button and select Time Tracking only.
Select which vendor or employee you want to add as a Time Tracking Only user.  
NOTE:  Regular users or Company Admin can use Time Tracking automatically by clicking on the + (Create) button on the top right.
